Alpaca Treks
We can offer alpaca walks to suit all ages and abilities. Our walks normally last for approximately one hour with time at the beginning to be introduced to your woolly walking companion and a short safety briefing. We then go on a circular walk around the back of the farm taking in the stunning scenery of Scafell and Great Gable. We then continue down to the shores of Wastwater where we can walk along the edge of the lake and this is the point which the alpacas normally like to have a little paddle. We make regular photo and grass eating stops around the walk and can go at a pace to suit our guests so a high level of fitness isn't necessary, our alpacas prefer to think of the walk as a marathon not a sprint. Walks take place by arrangement at a time and date to suit you. Please use our contact us page to make a booking.
Children
Children need to be 8 years old to walk their own alpaca. Children between 5 and 8 years old can joint lead an alpaca with an adult i.e. one alpaca with two lead reins. For children under 5 years old please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Prices
The price is £25 per person leading their own alpaca. There is no additional charges for children joint leading an alpaca with an adult. People joining the walk with no alpaca are also free of charge.
Meet and Greet Experience
We are now offering a meet and greet experience for people who don't want to go on a full walk or people who may have younger children in their group. We spend some time walking around our different alpaca groups out in the fields with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and take pictures. We then take a small number of our alpacas down to the lake for a paddle which is a great time to get closer to them, stroke and feed them and hopefully get some great photos of our guests holding an alpaca with Wastwater as a backdrop.
The price for a meet and greet experience is £25 per family group and again can be arranged at a time to suit you.
